The Comic Workshop is being held for 3 days from January 8th-10th, 2014 from 2.00 to 6.00 pm. It will be conducted by volunteers of Conflictorium and Drishti Media. This workshop is based on Grassroots Comics which was started by Sharad Sharma, the founder Worldcomics India.
Grassroots Comics as a medium stands out distinctly from mainstream comics. These comics are created by You and Me, common masses themselves. Individuals from diverse background have used this powerful medium to express their own self. Moreover, Grassroots Comics is a tool of delivering socially relevant messages to the people in a crisp, interesting and simple way. Thus, Grassroots comics are those comics which are not prepared by artists but by socially aware people themselves, based on their own understanding
In these three days participants will learn how to express their personal conflicts through the medium of illustration. This workshop is for everyone regardless of any art experience they have had.The participants will be a mixture of college students and local community youth. The important point of this workshop is to learn how to distill one’s problems into the simplest form.
