Storytelling @ British Library

Contemporary British storyteller Jo Blake Cave was invited by the prestigious British Library to engage in a workshop and then perform her piece of art ‘Edgelands’ on Monday 1st October. This workshop was held to showcase UK creativity in story telling for young learners and adults and introducing them to a new art form to develop their creative talent, comprehension and storytelling skills, enhancing their imagination through creative exploration of stories. This programme was supported by Oxford Bookstore and RP-SG group.

The event was neatly organised and conducted by the British Council, India. The workshop was held from 10 am to 3pm after which Jo Blake Cave had a rest for an hour and then she performed ‘Edgelands’ in front of an eager crowd of young and old , people were interested in the story and her art of adding the gestures, sounds and her own creativity which gripped the audience. Every now and then she would indulge in a light conversation with the audience and such that they would not feel left out at any stage.

Such workshops and performances should be held every now and then to encourage the youth of the city to be creative and strive towards excellence.
