Painting Exhibition of Gandhiji by Manhar Kapadia

Amdavadi artist Manhar Kapadia’s paintings of Gandhiji’s life events on canvas are on display at the Herwitz Gallery “Amdavad ni Gufa”, Kasturbhai Lalbhai Campus, Gujarat University Road. The exhibition will begin on 29th January 2013 and will be open till 3rd February 2013 from 4.00 PM to 8.00 PM.

Manhar Kapadia has been painting Bapu for many years now and has captured him in different moods across different ages. Though he uses references to paint Gandhi he paints more emotions than he sees in references. His passion for Gandhi is reflected in his works and its almost as if he brings Gandhi to life!

Manhar Kapadia has studied art from Sheth C. N. College of Fine Arts and his style of art is realistic yet creative. He has won many accolades, which includes the Lalit Kala Academy Sculpture Award in 2001 and Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation Painting Award in 2006. Currently he is a professor in painting department at Sheth C. N. College of Fine Arts in Ahmedabad.
