This bustling open place near the centre of the city is famous for the vegetable market in the morning and the gold market in the afternoon the 3rd biggest in India but it is mostly famous for the food stalls that start to emerge from 7 in the evening and go on till 2 and sometimes more than that during the festive season.
This place serves the people of the city a variety of delicacies including the regulars like Pani Puri, chat, sweets, snacks, etc but there are some innovative things which even the Master Chef Sanjeev Kapoor would be proud of. These items include the ice cream sandwich, the gwalia dosa, the innovative cheese chutney sandwich and what not. This place casts a spell at night and the even health freaks let loose and indulge in some extra kilocalories amidst the open sky and the bindass environment. Manekchowk has always been a popular tourist destination and all the amdavadis have atleast once visited this high voltage food presentation.
