INKC’s Twin Championship Dog Show in Ahmedabad


Dog, the most loyal animal to the human kind is a treat to watch whether it be a Doberman, Alsatian, Labrador, Great Bernard, Great Dane, German Shepherd or just a cute street dog. And imagine a show for dogs of all kinds, well that happens in the city in winters.

The INKC is supposed to hold 184th and 185th Twin Championship Dog Shows in Ahmedabad on Sunday the 6th of January, 2013. It is the first major event of the city along with Sabarmati Marathon on the same day and Kite Festivals and Sabarmati Cyclothon to follow later this month.

Every winter dog lovers look forward to Indian National Kennel Club’s Dog Championship in Ahmedabad. The INKC has been holding dog shows for more than 50 years and it has been greater and better since the past 24 years.

Every year this dog show attracts the best 150 dogs of the country and there is an expected crowd of around 6000 spectators at this unique championship. The Championship will be held at Gujarat Law Society, Navrangpura.

INKC holds one of the best dog shows in the country with the best breeds of dogs and respectable judges from India and abroad will be present in the show.

The INKC has the merit of being the first and only kennel club in the world to have recognized and promoted the local Indian breeds like Mudhol Hound, Pashmi and Rajapalayam.

This time the Dog Championship will be judged by Mr. Phiroze Javeri, vice president of INKC from Mumbai and Mr. Rakesh Dutta from Kolkata. Both these veterans have been breeding and judging dog shows since ages.

This time’s dog championship will feature many breeds like Shiz-Tzu, Neopolitan Mastiif, Yorkshire Terrier, English Mastiff, Pekingese, Fox Terrier, Jack Russell Terrier, Dogue de Bordeaux, Shar Pei, and Chihuahua. The Rajapalayam, our native Indian breed will also be represented at the show.

Ahmedabad surely is looking forward to this Unique Show after all the concerts and rocking parties of December 2012.
