This is the new baby in town, and in about two months of existence has gone from strength to strength.
I have been here twice, once when it had just opened and we were in for a rude 1 and a half hour waiting and again this past Friday, where they took a reservation, the service was good and the food was amazing.
That place is located on the road that leads towards Darpan 6 roads and is pretty visible. After you fight the rats in your stomach and the waiting, you are seated in the dining area. It has some very interesting looking lights adorning the ceilings. The place is done up in nice aqua and white and very well lit. The tables are narrow and aqua and the chairs are red, a little out of place but does not matter much. The place is absolutely crammed and whoever did the interior did a very good job of using the space very well.
The food is what is to be raved about. A unique menu as far as Ahmedabad is concerned, from Mediterranean to Italian minus the Indian. You surely want to believe from the sheer number of people, that we Amdavadis have started to explore.
It serves both veg and non-veg varieties; the second one most definitely beat its vegetarian sister though. The chunky mushroom soup for soup, the jacket potatoes (must try), mezze platter with its 4 types of dips (heavenly), prawns on a skewer, chicken burger, chicken in black pepper sauce (must try) for the entree, the berry-berry mocktail (if you are fond of something that gives you a nice sour kick, this one is for you) papaya salad is all that has been tried, tasted and recommended. The main course is equally varied and wants you to pick everything, except you cannot so try the Jerk Chicken, The Chicken Quesadillas, Piri-Piri paneer pizza, the baked risotto is their own version is also tasty.
Pick a weekday, they reserve tables and are able to honour it. They are not very expensive, and for what you eat, you will be much more willing to pay that price.
Their food is their confidence and if you love what you eat, you ought to try “That Place”
