Designer Digvijay Singh at Lakme Fashion Week Summer /Resort 2014

Dynamic and zestful Ahmedabad based designer Digvijay Singh is celebrating fashion once again with an essence of nostalgia. This Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2014 he unveils a stunning and surprising collection christened as LUDO & LADDERS.

As the names suggest Ludo & Ladder, Digvijay is celebrating the classic game of childhood and nostalgia this season. Travelling back to the time of innocence, this collection is highly influenced by the memories that most Indians have associated with these twin games. This is an ode to celebrate the most popular twin games that now seem lost in the deluge of digitalisation.

The collection is reminiscent, a muse, a nostalgic voyage.  The games are not just admired for the fun, but also for their striking graphic compositions and robust colour palette that reflects an innate Indian sensibility. The designer appreciates  geometry, bold colour palettes and memorable graphics that these games offer & the reflections of them are clearly evident in garments and ensembles, not just superficially but in character. The line offers quirkiness, novelty and most importantly- a slice of childhood.

The designer has played with bold and basic colours, reminiscent of the board games. Silks, cottons, chiffons, Rayon and viscose blends have been used as the fabric which is mainly a mix of Indian & western menswear & womenswear. The highlight would be colour blocking on the garments experimented in varied ways.  The garments have been embellished with prints and hand embroideries accessorizing handmade jewellery and shoes.

On this occasion the designer Digvijay Singh excitedly says, “Like every season, I am delighted to be a part of this season too. This time the collection is nostalgic and unique in its own way. It depicts the innocence and speaks about my memories of childhood. It evokes the images of traditional yet quirkiness. Hope the affair turns out to a great medley of creativity and nostalgia.”

The cuts and fits of the designer are innovative and in absolute artistic synchronization with the coloured layered and pleasant features. High on fun quotient & emotional connect.
