If this is the first time you have heard about Craftroots or are visiting this exhibition for the first time, then there are a few things you should know.  Craftroots is a unique platform that showcases and brings into spotlight the best of craftsmanship from Gujarat. Craftroots, an initiative by Gramshree aims to empower more than 300 artisans and positively impacting 12000 lives in the remote villages of Gujarat.

Craftroots is taking Indian Fashion industry by storm with its unmatched product range in Fashion, Art, Home Furnishings and corporate gifts and is a great shopping experience for Amdavadis, as one can see and buy so many artistic things in one place. Usually, we have limited access and understanding of several rare crafts and their techniques. But this one platform helps us remove this barrier.

The entire ambience of this exhibition is vibrant. The volunteer welcome you warmly by applying a tilak on your forehead. Once you are inside, you see an array of activities going on the same time. There is an MC who keeps informing the visitors of the ongoing activities. There are different stalls selling items involving different crafts such as pottery, brass work, block printing, leatherwork, crochet, bandhani, embroidery, patola, mushroo, patchwork, aariwork, lacquer, beadwork, handmade paper and many more.

You also get to see the artisans working on their craft exactly at the same place wherein they are selling it. There are workshops also which go on that teach creative art forms such as Warli painting. There is also a Smile Café, which is worth checking out if you feel hungry while shopping!

This whole mini bazaar is very lively and interactive and if you are a shopaholic or an art lover, you cannot miss visitng Craftroots.
