If you are a vegetarian foodie who appreciates fine dining options, then you would have definitely tried the mouthwatering North Indian food at Shakahari – the vegetarian restaurant at Courtyard by Marriott, Ahmedabad. On October 18, Shakahari announced the commencement of the Flavours of Asia Festival, which will feature an array of Asian fare with multi-cuisines such as Japanese, Chinese, Thai and of course, Indian.
The cuisine has definitely added a whole new dimension to the restaurant and the presentation through an elaborate buffet is eye candy. Our favourite picks for starters include dim sum, sushi, Vietnamese spring rolls, salads and Indian chaat. For the main course you can either choose to savour the myriad spices of Asian food or stick to the usual Indian favourites served fresh on the table. If you are wondering what’s special on the dessert menu, then you are in for a surprise. Executive Chef Satej Saigaonkar promises a grand display of traditional and unique desserts such as wasabi cheesecake, Thai mango custard and a chocolate fountain.
The Ahmedabad Blog spoke to Mr Gaurav Singh, General Manager, Courtyard by Marriott Ahmedabad about his take on this unique vegetarian food festival. He said, “For the past 3 years, Shakahari has established itself as the mecca for authentic, vegetarian food in the city. This festive season, we were eager to offer something beyond the ordinary for our patrons. Through the Flavours of Asia festival, we intend to present a wider choice of cuisines to our guests while still keeping in mind their preference for and our philosophy of serving authentic vegetarian food.”
The Flavours of Asia festival is priced at Rs 775 plus taxes per person and it is the only buffet in Ahmedabad city that gives you a travel experience through the cuisines of Asia!
