“Happy Children`s Day ! “ said the ‘Rotaractors’ ( Volunteers) of Rotaract Club of Ahmedabad North to the tiny-tots of Radha Krishna Trust. These young minds & college-goers aged between 18 to 25 years decided to give these underprivileged children a surprise on Chacha Nehru`s birthday. Not only did they distribute chocolates but they also collected storybooks, soft toys and clothes from neighboring colonies that did not need it anymore and distributed to these 50 kids of the trust. Bodybuilder & gyming enthusiastic of the club Debashish Hota also proved his power by doing 100 pushups with a small kid on his back. ”The kid just couldn’t stop laughing as he felt as if he was swinging in a park! That sound of laughter encouraged me to reach 100“ The rotaractors also danced with them on songs like ‘Raghupati Raghav ‘ from latest krishh3, chotabachhasamaj k and etc. post the distribution of toys and chocolates.
“We didn’t want to sit at home or hang out with friends on Children’s day holiday, so we had decided to visit the trust and spend time with children. We have been preparing for a month by visiting houses and neighbors and collecting as well as segregating things. And at the end of the day, the smiles on the faces proved that it was worth the hard work”- quoted Ronak Jain, President of Rotaract Club of Ahmedabad North.
Rotarct Club of Ahmedabad North is an organization that brings together people ages 18-30 in universities and communities in Ahmedabad to organize service activities, develop leadership and professional skills, and have fun. Rotary club of Ahmedabad North sponsors them, but Rotaract members manage and fund their clubs independently.
