Chocolate Brownie is one dessert, which I look out on every dessert menu at most restaurants in Ahmedabad. What’s not to like about brownie – it’s a dessert and it has chocolate. It can be served warm with ice cream or can be served at room temperature. It has the right amount of nuts and can be topped with a generous serving of chocolate sauce.
As you might have guessed by now, I do have a sweet spot for brownies! That’s why when Hyatt Ahmedabad introduced the Brownie Festival for the first time in Ahmedabad; I had to be there!
I visited Chocolárt at Hyatt Ahmedabad next day to tryout the 3 exclusive flavours of brownie, which were created for this particular festival. The Pastry Sous Chef Salil Jana has been serving regular brownies for a while now, but he wanted to share something exclusive with Ahmedabad. Thus, the idea of a brownie festival came into existence.
I was served the standard dark chocolate walnut brownie with hot chocolate sauce, milk chocolate brownie with pistachios served with caramel sauce and white chocolate brownie with almonds served with toffee sauce.
Based on texture and flavour, all I can say is three of these brownies were fantastic. But if I had to select my personal favourite, it would definitely be the white chocolate brownie served with the toffee sauce. The concept of white chocolate brownie is really unique and not something easily available in Ahmedabad. Moreover, the toffee sauce, which was poured on the brownie, was smooth and complimented the white chocolate well.
The classic chocolate brownie was rich in taste, packed with a sweet punch and perfect for those who love dark chocolate. Whereas the milk chocolate brownie presented a nice crunch from the whole pistachios, which were used in the brownie batter mix itself.
If you find the chocolate taste a little overwhelming, then you also have the option of pairing the brownie with a glass of milk or ice cream!
What made these brownies stand out was the fact that they were not turned into elaborate brownie desserts. Instead the brownie pieces were cut neatly and plated neatly and I was given the choice of how much sauce I want to add to my brownie. This sophisticated presentation, really allowed me to enjoy the moistness of the freshly baked brownies and made sure that the sauce does not overpower the taste of the brownies.
If you are a dessert person, I recommend you to try these brownies at Chocolárt at Hyatt Ahmedabad. The brownie festival is on till the end of January 2014.
