Bonjour India is a three-month-long celebration which includes dance, music, literature, science, new circus, design, exhibitions, opera, architecture, economic meets and more in a reflection of the wide spectrum of exchanges between the two countries – India and France. Riding the wave of success of the first edition of Bonjour India (2009-2010), the Embassy of France in India and the Institut Français en Inde, in association with the Alliance Française India network and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), are all set to unveil the second edition of the festival from January to April 2013.

Ahmedabad is one of the total of sixteen cities that will play host to over a hundred outstanding cultural events in all. These will encompass the entire gamut of people-to-people exchanges between India and France: art, literature, cinema, education, sports, architecture, fashion, photography, and performing arts.

The first event in Ahmedabad is an educational discussion on “Astronomical heritage: an Indo-French seminar”. The event is scheduled for 9th and 10th February 2013 at IIT, Gandhinagar.  The 2nd event is a photography & multimedia exhibition titled “France Heritage. Opening on 19th February 2013, 6.30 PM at
Ahmedabad Textile Mill’s Association (ATMA), the exhibition will remain on view until 25th February from 11.00 AM to 7.30 PM. You can also enjoy French Cinema on two different occasions. The second being the “French Film Festival”, which is scheduled from February 26th to 28th 2013 at Cinepolis and showcasing 6 contemporary French films.

This open-for-all festival will bring to Ahmedabad ‘Ananta-Opus 195’, which is a concerto for sarod, electronic and symphonic orchestra on 3rd March 2013 at Gujarat University Convention Hall. Sarod Maestro Amjad Ali Khan and his sons Amaan and Ayaan, will accompany the Avignon Provence Symphonic Orchestra.
