Aura Herbal Wear is a company that promotes and encourages environ conscious lifestyle. As a part of Aura’s knowledge sharing initiative, they organize many workshops on natural – herbal dyeing, printing, tie -dye, organic textiles, organic farming and gardening, upcycling, crafts knowledge etc. Recently, they had organized “a workshop to dye for” which was focused on sustainable textiles, dyes and colors.
This time they have collaborated with Button Masala to bring to Ahmedabad a workshop on making clothes from Herbal dyed Organic cotton clothing without using machines.
Button Masala is NID Alumni Anuj Sharma’s innovation, which uses buttons, buttonholes and rubber bands in unique styles along with unstitched fabrics to create designer silhouettes. His exclusive concept uses zero electricity to make garments, as this process involves no machines or tools. Therefore, his concept is one of the most sustainable products in apparel category. It can’t get more eco-friendly than this, can it?
The most intriguing part about his concept is the fact any one could learn to make his or her own garments from just one piece of fabric. You don’t even need any prior knowledge of sewing or designing. Even non-designers can learn to assemble the garments in just couple of hours. Any one from any field can join the workshop. No age / profession restrictions; that’s how simple this technique is. If you are a school student interested in fashion, then even you can participate. All we can say is that this workshop will leave you inspired!
