Is a civic problem bothering you? Need a quick way to register your complaint? Worry no more. The Comprehensive Complaint Redressal System (CCRS) has been launched in Ahmedabad wherein citizens can now simply dial 155303, a toll free number, for any civic complaints. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is the first civic body in Gujarat to have launched a complaint redressal system. Following AMC’s footsteps, 8 other civic bodies in the state too will launch this cutting edge system.
The call centre has been introduced to centralize the process and keep a track of solved complaints. The call centre would be functional from 8 AM to 10 PM and will have 30 lines. There is an option to register a complaint post 10 PM, wherein an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system will guide citizens in registering their complaints.
At present, this system covers more than 204 different types of complaints such as road repair, tree fall, wall collapse, burst drainage, potholes, water supply lines and waterlogging. Once your complaint is registered with the call centre, the concerned official will be informed regarding the complaint through SMS. The software will also display with which department the complaint has been registered as well as details of the deadline to solve it. Usually, depending upon the nature of the complaint, it can take anytime from 1 day to 1 week to resolve the complaint.
When you register the complaint, a number is sent to your phone. You can use this number on the Internet interface of the redressal system to know the real-time status of the complaint. This way you will exactly know when exactly the complaint will be resolved or whether nothing is being done about your complaint. The concerned officer too stays in touch with you to resolve your problem. That’s not all. If your complaint is resolved but you are not happy with the solution or outcome, then you can re-register your complain.

The entire system will be observed for 3 months and then recommended changes will be made to enhance the current system.
