22, an age when you start ignoring kid’s world, playgrounds and parks. I fall into same category, I visited the Kankaria lake some 3 years ago that too with my toddler cousins. Currently working on a waste management project, I had a chance to survey the Kankaria lake. With a sense of boredom, I along with two interns went Kankaria in this cloudy morning.
BRTS is a great service, Memnagar to Kankaria in 20 minutes! What else I wanted!! Welcome to Kankaria lake, I entered with wide eyes open. It has changed more rapidly than I thought of. Yes, I read about all events going on at the lake in the newspaper but never thought this was the scene.
As a kid, I used to visit football ground for roller coaster ride with a tiger faced engine, and a colorful swinging boat. I faded my interest in them with time. But today, Hot air balloon, speed boat, water balloon ride, exclusive (Economical!) food courts, biking took my heart.
Canker is must go for all youngsters who say they are bored with just cafes and multiplexes in Ahmedabad. If I am looking for some fun sporty activities I am definitely going there.
As a professional, I am impressed by how the State Government has worked over Kankaria as a successful public model of business and revenue generation. The portrait of a zoo & amusement rides, is being shifted to high profile butterfly park, bright toy train, sports rides, gym unit, swimming pool, and a jogging & gathering area for senior citizen. What else we wanted! Paying those Rs.10 at the entrance is worth to get rid from loafers on the road.
I am planning for sure Kankaria for sure this weekend!! I am a proud Amdavdi just now. Amazing experience Ahmedabad 😉
Here are some pictures that best describe my experience:
