Today, the Amdavadis had a very different morning. The 12 Annual Motif Charity Walk saw the ever enthusiastic citizens of the city come out and support the initiative started by Motif, a city-based BPO/KPO service provider, to promote health awareness and raise funds for different NGOs. Ahmedabad wore a colourful look as over 4500 participants walked 5kms and several even ran 10kms helping Motif raise funds for 31 NGOs. The walk started from LD College of Engineering and took the road from BK School of Management, Vijay Crossroads, Helmet Crossroads, to reach back to the LD ground.
Throughout the route there were bands churning great music with volunteers and children dancing and cheering the crowd, thus keep the tempo of the walkers and runners high. And once you cross the finishing line, there are many more celebrations to mark the day. Energy drinks, hot piping tea, biscuits and yummy ice creams are up for grabs to replenish the calories burnt, Ahmedabad’s favourite, RJ Dhvanit interacts with the audience. Apart from the regular prizes for the first, second and third spot in male and female categories, there several other fun games that keep everyone entertained. A group that’s dancing to foot-tapping songs, hoola-hoop trying competition between kids, skipping, tug-of-war and many more crowd engaging activities.
And after all this when you drive back home, you will be able to spot groups of people wearing the Motif walk tees, stationed at one of the nearby larries or eateries.
